Marianne Home Inn Review (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)

We were booked at Marianne Home Inn for 3 days and 2 nights.  It's less than 15 minutes from the airport and     includes roundtrip airport transfers and free wifi in the rooms.  The market is less than a 10 minute walk from the inn.

Breakfast included in the package consists of rice, hotdog/fried fish/ham, fried egg, 1 banana, and a sachet of Milo or instant coffee.  They also offer free mineral water thru a dispenser located at the end of the corridor.  Rooms are air-conditioned with an intercom, small LCD TV, desk & chair and the bathrooms include soap, shampoo, and toilet paper in the dispensers.  White towels are also included but you might want to check it first before using.

This bed is good for 2 people but can fit 3.  The mattress is a little firmer than what I am used to and the yellow blanket is a little thin for my liking.  We should've booked for twin beds instead.

Our room had an ensuite bathroom which was spacious.  I think all their rooms have ensuite bathrooms, better ask just to make sure.

I liked that they have soap and shampoo dispensers with actual product contents.
The shower also has a water heater feature.  Rooms in their upper floors may have a problem with the shower.  We were told by two women staying in the 2nd floor that they can't use the shower because of the low flow.  I hope they do something to fix this, like add a water pump or something.  Plus, there's no exhaust fan.

Overall, it's a decent place to lay your head in Puerto Princesa since you're outside most of the time enjoying what the city has to offer.  The inn is relatively new, having opened in March 2011 and the decor is minimalist but has a homey feel to it and looks clean and well-maintained.  The staff were accommodating and helpful.

You can leave your luggage at the front desk while being out on the tour.  They also have an airconditioned shuttle van for airport transfer but during our flight back to Manila, the van had already left so the staff offered to hail a tricycle to take us to the airport (on the inn's account, of course.)

It's also located near the market where you can buy fresh fish/seafood and produce to take back to Manila.  You can also ask the staff to buy it for you if you want and have the vendor pack it properly for a fee.  There's also a small store at the front of the inn and a basketball court at the side.  Since we were there on a weekend, you can hear some noise and boisterous chatter coming from there, even inside your room. (although it's a little muffled).  Moderate to loud noise from the corridors can also be heard inside the room.

It's not wheelchair-accessible and there are no elevators inside the building and there isn't much space if your kids love running around.

Free breakfast, free drinking water, free wifi earns points in my book.

You can book this hotel using their webpage or at Agoda.  We booked through a travel agency so I can't comment on how they handle inquiries and replies though.

Oh, and by the way, this is not a paid post.
